Footwear retailer Schuh has at the moment launched its new Christmas campaign beneath the title of ‘Past, Present(s), Future’, which takes inspiration from Charles Dickens’ ‘A Christmas Carol’.
A 30-second video is now out there to view throughout all of Schuh’s social channels and in all of its shops, whereas it’s going to even be premiering on broadcast streaming platforms together with ITVX, Channel 4 Streaming and Sky VOD, alongside premium subscription providers Netflix, Amazon Prime Video and Disney+, from 10 November.
Working with inventive company ZAK and directed by London-based director and ‘creative thinker’ Henry Dean, the advert follows a personality known as Cazzie, who has misplaced her love for Christmas.
Guided by a trendy spirit known as Marley, and with a reflective voiceover, Cazzie embarks on a journey of rediscovery because the advert captures her close to previous – the joy of receiving items as a young person – and her close to future, highlighting the enjoyment of perfecting reward giving for her personal youngsters.
Through a lens of nostalgia and transformation, Cazzie reconnects with the magic of the current whereas making an attempt on contemporary pairs of footwear, celebrating with buddies and having fun with Christmas along with her household. The advert closes on scenes of laughter and reward giving.
Neil Partington, Chief Retail Officer at Schuh, mentioned: “The ‘Past, Present(s), Future’ campaign is finally a celebration of gifting. Who doesn’t wish to nail the proper footwear reward? The campaign adopts the ethos of our ‘Same, But Different’ inventive platform, championing the message that there is no such thing as a one method to be this Christmas.
“At Schuh, daring to be different doesn’t stop for the festive season. We’re proud to create a space that is free of judgement. When it comes to Christmas gifting, there’s no such thing as one size fits all – and we hope Cazzie’s story resonates both with our younger shoppers and those buying for them this Christmas.”
To ‘amplify reach’, the campaign may even run throughout YouTube, YouTube Shorts, VEVO, Reddit and Twitch.
In addition, Schuh is entering into new territory with strategic podcast sponsorships, connecting with Gen Z and household audiences by among the UK’s hottest reveals, together with ‘Saving Grace’, ‘The Girls Bathroom’ and ‘Parenting Hell’.
