Olivier Rousteing exits as Creative Director of Balmain – TheIndustry.style

French luxurious style home Balmain has introduced the departure of Olivier Rousteing as Creative Director after 14 years on the helm, as was rumoured to be on the playing cards again in January 2025.

Rousteing was appointed by Balmain in April 2011, aged 25. At the time, he turned the youngest non-founding designer to guide a serious Paris home since Yves Saint Laurent was appointed at Dior. He was additionally the primary black Creative Director of a French luxurious style model.

His departure ends one the longest and most influential tenures within the luxurious style sector. It’s at the moment unknown as as to if Balmain will appoint a longtime designer to exchange the ‘disruptive’ designer.
