Hermès Picks Grace Wales Bonner to Design Menswear

Grace Wales Bonner has been named artistic director of males’s ready-to-wear at French leather-based items big Hermès, succeeding veteran designer Véronique Nichanian who’s exiting the corporate after 37 years within the function.

A graduate of London’s Central Saint Martins, Wales Bonner rose to prominence with a namesake label that blends tailoring and sportswear, exploring a broad vary of references linked to post-colonial narratives and the Black diaspora.

With the nomination, Wales Bonner will turn into the primary Black lady to be named artistic director at a significant luxurious home.
