Following the announcement of the box sets for Am I the Drama?the long-awaited follow-up to her 2018 debut album Invasion of PrivacyCardi B took an unusual approach to ensure that her fans snatch those up as soon as possible.
While on Spaces, Cardi jokingly claimed she’s poor and about to get evicted from her mansion, but her fans can prevent that from happening by buying her album. “Please support the box sets. They count for album sales, and I need you guys to donate for the album sales because I’m poor,” she said.
“I’m about to get evicted from my mansion. They’re about to repo all my cars. They’re about to take my Lambos and my Rolls-Royce,” Cardi continued. “I couldn’t even get my pool cleaned this week, you know what I’m saying? I’m fucked up in the game right now.”
Cardi went on to say that she’s been looking into a two-bedroom place for her and her kids because she “spent all my money on the ‘Imaginary Playerz’ video.”
In her post promoting the Am I the Drama? box sets, the “Outside” rapper implored people to “support a working single mother of 3.”
Cardi appeared to get emotional during her time on Spaces while opening up about her personal and financial struggles.
“Ever since I became a single mother, everything just been so hard on me,” she said. “And the weight of the world is just so hard. I don’t even know what to do anymore.”
“My mortgage every month is, like, with the two houses that I have is about $46,000 a month,” the rapper tearfully continued. “Like, how can I afford that? Like, I don’t even know what I’m gonna do anymore. I think gonna sell my pussy in Dubai or something like that.”
Meanwhile, Cardi B faced another tense courtroom exchange in her ongoing civil assault trial on Wednesday (Aug. 27), as attorney Ron Rosen pressed her on whether former security guard Emani Ellis is “bigger” than her.
Cardi explained that during their heated exchange she and Ellis were “face-to-face” and described her as “security heavy.” When asked to elaborate, Cardi added, “She looks like she’s a little … like she could protect the building. She looked more developed than me.”
